　最近、今更ながら英語に力を入れようと思っている。時間と資金と能力を考えれば、今からものになりそうなのは英語しかない。もちろん、だからといって他の言語を放棄しようと言うのではないけど。
　とりあえず力を入れるのは、タイムや英文学を丁寧に読解すること。英検一級程度の語彙を確実に身に付けること。ニュースやドラマを視聴して耳を鍛えること。
　『CNN ENGLISH EXPRESS』という CD つき月刊誌を試してみたい誘惑に駆られている。

　タイムの独占取材。記者が大統領にホワイトハウスのプライベートな空間までも案内してもらう。

　大統領と副大統領は、万が一のために、同じ飛行機には乗らないし、同じエレベーターにも乗らない。この原則は、ホワイトハウスの中でも変わらない。この日、トランプと記者たちはエレベーターに乗り、ペンスは階段を昇ったという。
