　家で一気に読むという計画、早速ピンチである。
　コンディションが良くなくて、記事の理解はいまいち。興味も湧かない。なんとなく読み飛ばす。
　しかも、根気もない。読み残した部分を職場で読んで、やっとこさカバートゥカバーを完遂した。
　ある程度意味のある通読を担保するには、職場と家とで、一週間かけてゆっくり読むべきなのか。それが現時点での実力なのか。

　児童書の紹介記事より。さすがアメリカ、移民の物語の特集である。

　六番目の本は、その名も”Refuge”。ヘロデ大王の幼児虐殺を恐れ、ヨセフとマリアは、生まれたばかりのイエスを連れて、エジプトへ逃れる。彼らもまた移民であり、難民であった。
　そもそも聖書は放浪の物語である。太祖アブラハムに神が命じたのは、故郷を捨てよということであった。人々はみな動いてゆく。衝突しながら、交わってゆく。やがては普遍主義が志向されるのである。
　大統領選挙の中で鮮明に浮かび上がるアメリカの今のイシューに対して、タイムはいかなる姿勢を示すのか。こんなところにも表れているようである。
